Freeport is the main city on Grand Bahama, an island in the northwest Bahamas off the Florida coast. It's best known for the oceanfront Lucaya district's beaches, resorts, and shopping. Nearby, Deadman's Reef is popular for snorkeling, and the surrounding offshore waters have many dive sites. Up the coast, Lucayan National Park features extensive underwater caves plus kayaking and nature trails.

Grand Bahama is the northernmost of the islands of the Bahamas, and the closest major island to the United States, lying 86 kilometres (53 mi) off of Palm Beach, Florida. It is the fourth largest island in the Bahamas island chain of approximately 700 islands and 2,400 cays. The island is approximately 153 kilometres (95 mi) long west to east and 24 kilometres (15 mi) at its widest point north to south. Administratively, the island consists of the Freeport Bonded Area and the districts of East Grand Bahama and West Grand Bahama.
Traveling to The Bahamas by sea offers more flexibility with the type of documents you will need to get through Bahamas immigration and back through U.S. immigration.The Bahamas Ferry Express is one of the only ways to travel to the Bahamas that does not require a passport for U.S. citizens, even when you stay overnight!

Guests will be meet in Fort Lauderdale, Port Everglades 1850 Eller Drive, Ft. Lauderdale, FL Pier #1. Cruise departs Fort Lauderdale, FL at 8:00 am (check-in by 6:00 AM). Guests will board before 6:00 AM Saturday, July 8 before we depart at 8:00 AM. After a full week of diving, the Ferry returns to Fort Lauderdale Saturday, July 15. Friday evening the Aqua Hands hosts a sunset cocktail party at Agave Lucaya. Ferry ride to Grand Bahamas and back to U.S.A. and the Friday night dinner is included in the price. Check-out is Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. Transportation is provided back to the Ferry Saturday before 5:00 PM. Cruise departs Grand Bahamas Island at 6:30 pm (check-in by 5:00 PM).

Port Lucaya Marketplace
Considered the shopping Mecca of Freeport, the Port Lucaya Marketplace offers eighty specialty stores, boutiques, restaurants, outdoor and indoor bars and cafes across 12 island-style buildings. Hunt for Bahamian-made handicrafts alongside designer labels, jewelry and more. The Marketplace is also home to casual and fine dining eateries, live music and entertainment.
Lucayan National Park
Lucayan National Park is a 40-acre Grand Bahama treasure known for its underwater cave system, one of the longest in the world. Two of the caves, Ben's Cave and Burial Mound Cave, are accessible via a short footpath. In 1986, bones of the island's earliest inhabitans were found in the Burial Mound Cave. The park is also unique because it is home to all six of the Bahamas' vegetation zones.
